CFL Week 5 Online Football Betting Lines

    CFL Football Thursday Games

Week 5 is the most-packed week for the CFL so far. With five games scheduled, the Ottawa Redblacks will be playing twice and no team is on bye. The Redblacks are still searching for their first win and will have the extra obstacle of playing with shorter rest time and fewer opportunities to practice. They take on the Montreal Alouettes on Wednesday and end the week against the Argonauts on Monday. Also on deck are the league's only undefeated team, the Edmonton Eskimos facing the worst team, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

The CFL season is rounding out to form as the favourites continue to win. Week 4 saw all but one favourite win as the Calgary Stampeders fell to the Montreal Alouettes. The Als improved to 6-0 against the spread versus the Stamps. With five games on slate this week, there are a few options but the Edmonton Eskimos simply being slight favourites over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats makes them a must-bet. The Tiger-Cats will make a game of it but even with key injuries, the Eskimos should get the job done.

If momentum meant anything, the Alouettes would be decided favourites here. They continued to hold the Stampeders' numbers and thanks to a defense that surrenders the fewest points per game (21.25) they are in each game despite their offense's struggles. The Redblacks are opposites and have the third-highest scoring offense per game (29) but struggle defensively. In a desperate spot, the Redblacks are due to explode especially with the Als' offensive MVP, RB Tyrell Sutton dealing with a calf injury. The game will be close but the Redblacks pull away later.

Prediction: Ottawa Redblacks -5.0 (-110) at Sports Interaction

The Tiger-Cats are so atrocious it feels too easy to write them off. Dead last in both yards gained (287.3) and yards against (499) per game, the Tabbies have a lot of improving to do. Quarterback Zach Collaros is a bright spot but given how shoddy his offensive line is, he can only do so much. They get a bit of a break as the Eskimos are dealing with injuries to their linebackers and running back. The Eskimos will cut this close like their previous games but they'll pull it off.

Prediction: Edmonton Eskimos (-150) at Sports Interaction

The Bombers bounced back with a drubbing of the Argonauts but it could partially be the inconsistency of the young Argos. Winnipeg has a winning record but has a negative point differential (-8) and net yards per game (-34.4). They have some luck facing the Lions without their main signal caller. While Travis Lulay can still ball, he's vulnerable and not as mobile as Jonathon Jennings and the Bombers will take advantage of that fact. The young Bombers' D will run roughshod over the thin Lions' o-line and make a statement.

Prediction: Winnipeg Blue Bombers (+170) at Sports Interaction

Not often can you take a 10-point favourite and feel confident but the Stampeders are fuming from losing to the Alouettes last week. The Stamps face a tough Roughriders team coming off a bye. QB Kevin Glenn is finding his groove and the offense could be on the upswing while the defense also improves. Had this been any other time, the Roughriders would be live dogs but there is a legitimate chance Bo Levi Mitchell and the high-powered offense open a can of whoop-arse in the spirit of the Stampede.

Prediction: Calgary Stampeders -10.0 (-110) at Sports Interaction

The additional game has the Redblacks play their second game of the week and their third in 10 days. The Redblacks will have traveled back and forth and not have gotten ample practicing time. Injuries could also play a factor here depending on how their Wednesday game goes. Hold off betting this game until then but if the Redblacks are underdogs here, they're worth checking out as the Argos are still not consistent enough and barely escaped Ottawa the first time. They also don't play as well at home.

Prediction: Ottawa Redblacks (+110) at Sports Interaction

Hockey and baseball aren't Canada's only two great sports: Canadian football sits close to the top. Arguably a better product than the NFL (on a smaller scale), the CFL's style revolves around plenty of passing, bone-jarring hits, and plenty of incredible comebacks and underdog victories. Canadian football is a betting staple and with its continued exposure overseas it only attracts more fans. Online sportsbooks offer plenty of bets to entice alongside signup bonuses of up to $200 making it a seamless experience for both new and experienced gamblers.
