NHL Predictions Tonight | November 21

    Results / FixturesNHL

It’s Monday, Monday, Monday and many Canadians are still reeling after seeing Goldberg beat Brock Lesnar in Toronto last night. No? Well, there will be lots of action on the ice tonight. The Champs are entertaining the NY Rangers. We have 2 Canadian teams playing, with Calgary on the road against the Sabres, and the Blackhawks are in Edmonton. We will also break down The Colorado Avalanche at The Columbus Blue Jackets, and the Tampa Bay Lightning vs Nashville Predators matchup.

How’s this for a Monday main event? The defending champ Penguins are currently in second place in the Metro division behind the Rangers. So this will be a lot of fun. Both teams are coming off losses, and the Rangers have actually dropped their last 2.

The Rangers are still the top scoring team in the NHL. It’s not even close. Tampa is in second place offensively, and trail NY by 16 goals. This will be a home and home series in back-to-back games. And we predict each team will take a game on the other’s ice. NY wins tonight.

The Chicago Blackhawks @ The Edmonton Oilers

BET THE BLACKHAWKS (-105) AT  This game is fun. Connor McDavid plays his first game against Towes and The Blackhawks. You’ll want to flip between this game and the Pens-Rangers game. Edmonton stopped the bleeding, and are coming off a win, via the McDavid hat trick. Prior to that, they had dropped 5 in a row. They’re 10-8, but they’re limping back home to play the Hawks.

As for the Hawks, let’s throw out all the numbers. Here’s all you need to know: veteran players who have had to hear about this young kid for two years, finally getting to face him. The Hawks will be focused tonight, and they will also be victorious.

Tampa Bay Lightning @ Nashville Predators

BET THE LIGHTNING (+120) The Lightning are on a 4-game winning streak, and currently sit second in the Atlantic division. Meanwhile, Nashville has been strong at home lately. Brian Boyle will be a game-time decision for Tampa, with an upper body injury. He has only scored 5 goals all season, so his playing won’t likely factor into the outcome.

Tampa’s winning streak has all come on the road, and has come largely from the defensive end, allowing 4 goals in the 4 games, with two, count em, two shutouts. Good offensive streaks can halt suddenly, but good D has staying power. Look for them to extend to 5 games in a row tonight.

The Calgary Flames @ The Buffalo Sabres

BET THE FLAMES (+110) Buffalo continues to refuse to put the puck in the net. They are the worst team in the NHL offensively, and the only team in the NHL not averaging over 2 goals per game on the season. Not even close, actually at 1.75 GPG.

They won their last game in a shootout against the defending champion Penguins, but have not had a 3 goal game in almost a month. Meanwhile, the Flames are just on the verge of building a little som-somethin’ and have won 3 of their last 4 games, 2 of those being on the road. Look for them to make it 5 in 6 tonight.

The Colorado Avalanche @ The Columbus Blue Jackets

BET THE BLUE JACKETS (-145) The Avs have been just brutal offensively so far, and mediocre-to-bad defensively this year. The only team with worse offensive numbers is the above-mentioned Sabres team. This is also the last game on a 3 game road trip for the Colorado Avalanche.

Meanwhile the Blue Jackets are hot, winning their last 4 games in a row and they’re 8-1-1 in their last 10 games. They are the second highest scoring team in the NHL and there’s no way Colorado beats them on their own ice tonight.
