Toronto Blue Jays: Big bats fuel the fire for Canada’s team

Back in a more familiar time slot, after they were relegated to playing four of five ALDS contests during the daytime, Toronto looks to continue their amazing romp through the second half of the 2015 Major League Baseball season in Kansas City tonight. The Blue Jays have posted a 50-25 record since the All-Star break – a mark that includes three straight wins over Texas. After their bats were somewhat silent during the first two games of the ALDS, the Blue Jays were outscored by a 11-7 margin during two loses, the Big Blue Machine came to life as they rolled the Rangers by 19-8 combined count to sweep the final three matches and advance to the ALCS.

Kansas City Royals: Miracle ALDS Game Four win props up the Show Me State Crew

Thought to be dead in the water, after being down 6-3 on the road in Houston heading into the top of the eighth inning during their ALDS Game 4 contest, Kansas City rallied for six runs and went on to a 9-6 victory. The Royals then trailed Houston by two runs at home in Game 5, though after just three innings, before they scored seven unanswered runs to post a 7-2 victory and clinch their berth in the ALCS. While it’s hitting first and then everything else in Toronto, the Royals are a solid mix of hitting, pitching and aggressive base running. That versatility showed as Kansas City owned an American League best 95-67 record during the regular season. The Royals are a tough out.

Kansas City vs Toronto MLB 2015 ALCS Game One Call: It’s been exactly thirty years since these teams last meet in the MLB playoffs as Kansas City rallied from a 3-1 series deficit to win the 1985 American League Championship Series. These teams played emotion charged games during the regular season as the Blue Jays won the season series by a 4-3 count. One run decided three of those contests and Toronto edged Kansas City by a 39-33 combined final count. RHP Marco Estrada (13-8 ERA 3.13) faces RHP Edinson Volquez (13-9 ERA 3.55) in the battle on the bump tonight.
