Minnesota Vikings vs Oakland Raiders: NFL Week 10 Prediction

Minnesota Vikings vs Oakland Raiders: NFL Week 10 Prediction

Minnesota Vikings: Fighting Green Bay for first in the NFC North

Tied with the Packers in the “Norris” Division, though placed first due to tiebreakers, Minnesota is 6-2 and they are looking to win five straight contests for the first time since they opened the 2009 NFL season with a 6-0 record. Though not against the best talent, the Vikings sandwiched road wins over Detroit (28-19) and Chicago (23-20) with home victories over Kansas City (16-10 and St. Louis (21-18 OT) during their four-game winning streak. Minnesota is a nice mix of solid defense, a relentless rushing attack with Adrian Peterson and conservative yet effective quarterback play with Teddy Bridgewater under center. In their last meeting, the Vikings dropped a 27-21 decision at home to the Raiders during Week 11 action in 2011. The Vikings are for real in the playoff race.

Oakland Raiders: High powered offense has Raider Nation talking playoffs in the AFC

Playoffs? You wanna talk about playoffs? One has to go all the way back to the 2002 NFL season to find the last time Oakland earned a playoff berth. That QB Rich Gannon team was pretty good as the Raiders played in Super Bowl XXXVII but they were bashed 48-21 by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Oakland hasn’t had a winning record since as they posted a 56-136 record over the next twelve seasons. But enough of the negative as the Raiders are 4-4 and just one game out of a Wild Card position with a game in hand on the three five-win teams ahead of them. After wins in San Diego over the Chargers (37-29) and at home 34-20 against the New York Jets, the Raiders impressive offensive outburst continued last weekend - albeit in a 38-35 loss to the Steelers in Pittsburgh.

Oakland vs Minnesota 2015 NFL Week 10 Call: Minnesota didn’t fair very well in the Bay Area during Week 1 action as they lost 20-3 to the dysfunctional San Francisco 49ers. We are giving the Vikings a pass on that contest as it began at 9:00 PM Minnesota time – this one starts at 3:05 PM CT. After RB DeAngelo Williams gashed the Raiders for 170 rush yards and two TD's last weekend, we expect Minnesota will lean heavily on RB Adrian Peterson who enters Week 10 as the leading rusher in the NFL with 758 yards. Not only will it help them move the chains but it will also keep Raiders QB Derek Carr on the sidelines.
