New York Rangers: Eyeing Metropolitan Division Top Perch
An amazing run continues for New York as they are now 21-6-3 since the beginning of January. Following a 2-1 victory in Uniondale last night, the Rangers moved to within one point of the Islanders in the Metro title chase. Given that they have a whopping four games in hand, it’s only a matter of time until the Blueshirts assume the top perch. The Boys from the Big Apple have earned 25 out of a possible 30 points during a 11-1-3 winning run over their last 15 matches.
Washington Capitals: Comfortably placed in the NHL Eastern Conference Wild Card race
Following a stretch of six straight NHL playoff appearances, Washington posted a respectable 38-30-14 record but missed the postseason party last season. The Capitals currently own the #7 seed in the East and have a four point bulge over Boston. Barring a disastrous late season slide, Washington will return to the playoffs this year as they have a ten point lead on #9 seed Florida. The Caps will be fresh here as they have not played since their 6-1 bashing of Buffalo on Saturday.
Rangers vs Capitals Call: Washington has been on a bit of a roller-coaster ride as they are 8-6 over their last 14 contests. New York and Washington will battle each other three times over the final 30 days of the NHL regular season after the Blueshirts won the first meeting 4-2 at Madison Square Garden back on December 23, 2014. The Rangers playing on back-to-back nights on the road is a slight concern here but we like the NYR puck line odds posted on the betting board. Ride the Rangers with a 500 unit spread price wager!
