NFL 2014 Divisional Playoff Round Quick Hits and Predictions
Broncos & Patriots: AFC Divisional Playoff Favorites
Based on the lofty wagering lines posted at the online sportsbooks, we can eagerly anticipate Tom Brady facing Peyton Manning in the 2014 AFC Championship game. If you are wondering, Brady leads the series by a 10-4 count over 14 playoff and regular season games. New England is posted as home chalk at -7 (-115) ATS as they come off a well deserved bye week to host the Colts. Indy got past a 28 point deficit (second largest in NFL playoff history) as they defeated Kansas City 45-44 in Wild Card action last weekend. Denver, listed as the weekends biggest favorite at -9 (-113) ATS, are also home and rested as they welcome the Chargers to Mile High country for the Sunday game. San Diego bashed the Bengals 27-10 last weekend.
Seahawks & 49ers: Thick and thin chalk to meet in NFC title game
We have been preaching the virtues of the Seahawks all season and we like them even more now that they have had a couple weeks off to get healthy and playoff ready. Posted with a thick -7-5 (-105) price, Seattle faces the New Orleans Saints to kickoff the NFC Divisional playoffs on Saturday at CenturyLink Field. While expecting a similar result to the 34-7 pounding they laid on the Saints in Week 13 is a little unreasonable, a ten point win here wouldn't surprise us. San Francisco, as they were during the Wild Card playoffs in Green Bay against the Packers, are the only road favorites this weekend. The 49ers, posted with a thin -1 (-110) chalk line, are white hot having won seven straight games as they roll into Carolina to battle the Panthers.
Online Betting Canada predicts the 2014 AFC & NFC Championship combatants
While we are a slightly surprised to find three of the four NFL Divisional playoff games posted at a touchdown or more at the sportsbooks, our research shows that three of the four teams are deserving of their chalk status. We like the Broncos, Seahawks and 49ers to cover their prices this weekend. The Patriots versus Colts clash has been a tough call for us but, in the end, we'll side with the Pats on the money line.
