Panthers vs Kings NHL Odds: Coasts Collide as Florida Meets Los Angeles

LA Kings: After a hot start the Champs have cooled

After a strong 6-1-1 start to their season, the Kings have slumped some to a 3-4-3 record over their last ten contests. While they've been their usual rock solid defensively, ranking 5th with a 2.11 goals against average, Los Angeles needs to find some scoring as they sit 24th with a rather pedestrian 2.44 goals for per game average. The defense is once again being led by goaltender Jonathan Quick (8-3-4 GAA 2.04) who owns a league leading .947 save percentage in net for the Kings. Some additional secondary scoring, especially from the likes of Marian Gaborik (4 PTS) and Justin Williams (5 PTS) would be welcomed anytime soon in SoCal.

Florida Panthers: Look to keep running hot in Southern California

Following a 6-2 whacking of the Ducks in Anaheim on Sunday, Florida looks for a second straight win as they make the short trip up the 1-5 to LA. In fairness to Anaheim, illness has ravaged their locker room recently as the mumps, yes the mumps, plus a flu virus have spread at the Duck Pond. Florida hasn't had much success at the Staples Center as they have lost five straight games with the most recent being a 4-0 loss on March 22, 2014. Florida goalie Roberto Luongo (4-3-4 GAA 2.24) has also struggled against LA posting a 3.25 GAA in five straight losses during his time with Vancouver and the above mentioned loss as a Panther.

Panthers vs Kings Prediction: Give Florida (6-4-5) some credit has they have potted 17 goals in their last four games - after scoring just 16 in their first 11 contests combined this season. That said, don't expect the Panthers scoring barrage to continue against Quick who has allowed eight goals in his last eight home starts - that's some pretty easy GAA math. Tempted by the puck line price, we'll go conservatively and back the Kings with a 500 unit wager on the money line odds posted on the Bet365 betting board.
