Angels Aim to Pull Closer in AL Wild Card Race
Los Angeles is just 2.5 games behind the Oakland Athletics for the second AL Wild Card spot coming into play Sunday. The Angels are sitting too far back in the AL West to make a run in their own division so reaching the Wild Card play-in game is their best bet.
White Sox Desperately Need a Win as Season Winds Down
Chicago comes into Sunday's game holding onto a 0.5 game lead in the AL Central over the Detroit Tigers after losing four straight games. The White Sox are 5-5 in their previous 10 games and are trying to avoid being swept by the Angels. Time is running out for the White Sox to fall out of first place in the Central because they would be 4 games out of the second AL Wild Card spot. Winning the AL Central might be the only hope for the playoffs in Chicago this season.
