Los Angeles vs St. Louis: Kings and Blues Renew NHL Rivalry
St Louis Blues: Playing just their third contest tonight
Playoff contenders the last three seasons, though without much success, St. Louis is primed to participate in the NHL postseason for a fourth straight year. Although we are nine days into the new NHL season, St. Louis is playing just their third game of the year. The Blues are on the road for the first time after they dropped their season opening contest 3-2 to the Rangers last Thursday and then defeated the Flames 4-1 on Saturday during home games. Though it's early in the season, rust could be a factor for the Blues tonight.
Los Angeles Kings: Playing their fourth home game of the season
With a bullseye on their backs, as the defending Stanley Cup Champions, Los Angeles is playing their fourth home game of the season tonight. The Kings were crushed 4-0 in their home opener against San Jose prior to earning a point on the road during a 3-2 OT loss in Arizona. Los Angeles returned home to post 4-1 and 6-1 wins over Winnipeg and Edmonton respectively. The Kings took two of three games versus the Blues last season as they won 3-2 at home and split a two game set in St. Louis winning 4-1 and losing 5-0.
NHL Game Night Call: Los Angeles has won six of their last seven games games versus St. Louis and we expect that trend to continue tonight.
