NFL Top Chalk: Green Bay Pakers are Super Bowl 50 favorites
Swapping positions from back in February 2015, Green Bay has surpassed Seattle as the top favorite to claim Super Bowl 50. Considering that the Packers are returning as close to intact as possible, we are not surprised by Green Bay’s lofty status. Big name free agents WR Randall Cobb and RT Bryan Bulaga both resigned at the deadline and that’s huge a relief for Packer backers. There are still some minor question marks on defense and special teams but the Packers are positioned to torch their opponents with QB Aaron Rodgers and his fully loaded arsenal on offense again this season.
Seattle Seahawks: Reloaded on offense the Hawks are seeking a third straight NFC title
Two-time defending NFC Champion Seattle made a huge splash in the offseason as they lured TE Jimmy Graham away from New Orleans. The cost was high as All-Pro C Max Unger went over to the Saints and that leaves a big hole to fill on the Seahawks offensive line. While Unger has dealt with injuries recently, RB Marshawn Lynch will have a tougher time running the rock without Unger opening holes for him. It should also be noted that the Legion of Boom defense in Seattle has some question marks as FS Earl Thomas, CB Tharold Simon and CB Jeremy Lane are all recovering from offseason surgery. Don’t forget – no team has ever won three consecutive NFC Championships.
