The silver and black have moved around over the years, and now live in Oakland. Los Angeles “borrowed” the Raiders from 1982–1994, and the team made a run at the championship in 1993. Overall, they have won 3 Super Bowl championships in 1976 (XI), 1980 (XV) and 1983 (XVIII). They have also won their division 15 times, while winning the conference title on 4 different occasions. But that’s history now. In recent years, the Raiders have really struggled with consistency on the sidelines. [+]

Since 2004, they have had 7 coaches in Norv Turner (2004–2005), Art Shell (2006), Lane Kiffin (2007–2008), Tom Cable (2008–2010), Hue Jackson (2011), Dennis Allen (2012–2014), Jack Del Rio (2015–present). As a result, they have neither reached the playoffs nor racked up a winning record (any record better than .500) in 13 seasons.

Oakland Raiders Record

Key dates in the team history. January 26, 2003: The team’s last Super Bowl was actually the team’s last playoff appearance. The team has quite literally never been the same since that blowout loss (48-21) against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

How strong is the team within its division/conference? This team has not done well in over 13 seasons. They are rarely favoured to do anything besides play spoiler to the better teams in their division and the NFL.

What are the team’s main strengths vs weaknesses? Khalil Mack, Derek Carr and Amari Cooper are their young core of offensive talent. They are good, but they need to be better and they need to be surrounded by more firepower.

How far does the team usually go in the league? Will this be the year the drought ends? Unlikely. This team is still way too thin on both sides of the ball to even talk about a .500 season. Although, they will likely improve. They will also need to retain their coaching staff for more than a few seasons to actually build a winner. Until then, you’re better off watching the Golden State Warriors.
