National League: NY Mets Matt Harvey to the forefront
Matt Harvey has taken the NL by storm during his rookie campaign with the New York Mets, so it is only fitting that he gets to start the game at his home ballpark on Tuesday night. He will likely only last a couple of innings, no more than three, but he still will be the talk of the league no matter the outcome of the game.
American League: Detroit Tiger Max Scherzer gets the nod
Detroit and AL skipper Jim Leyland chose his own horse to start the All-Star game after Max Scherzer began the season 13-0. He suffered his first loss on Saturday, which means that he will be pitching on two days of rest, so expect him to last maybe two innings tonight. The AL will be without a win again this year.
