The OKC Thunder have been one of the most consistent franchises in the Western Conference since moving from Seattle after the 2007-08 season. During their eight years in Oklahoma City, the Thunder have made the playoffs six times and have reached the Conference Finals or better in four of those six seasons. Led by the dynamic duo of Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant, the Thunder have proven they are a team to beat each year. [+]

Consistent winners bring plenty of bettors, and that’s why Oklahoma City Thunder lines have seen plenty of action over the years. Durant and Westbrook have definitely padded a few bankrolls throughout their careers.

OKC Thunder Record

Durant and Westbrook have been the cornerstones of this franchise, and they are the ones that have been counted on to bring a championship home. The two seasons OKC failed to make the playoffs with those two came because of injuries to one of both of those stars (2014-15) or the fact that these two were really young and in their 2nd and 1st years respectively (2008-09). Since then, as long as these two guys remain healthy, this team has been a force to deal with in the West.

Two superstars can take a franchise a long way, but eventually they will need a strong supporting cast to get them to the promised land. OKC had a young James Harden coming off the bench when they made the NBA Finals in 2011-12 and have been constantly searching for his replacement(s) since he left. Yet, from a betting perspective, this team will rack up plenty of wins during the course of the regular season with Durant and Westbrook still in town and it’s something that bettors can count on.

However, straight up victories and covering spreads can be two very different things. The 15-16 OKC season proved that as they finished with a 55-27 straight up record, but had the 6th worst against the spread mark at 37-44-1. That tells you that at times the Thunder’s point spreads may be a point or two inflated because of the superstar name power they possess, and the fact that opponents love to step up to the challenge OKC brings. It’s definitely something to keep in mind before you go laying 8 and 9 points with this team each night.
