Orlando City Record

Though the first season of the Orlando City SC was technically in 2015, the club began operating in 2010 at a lower level of soccer. After four very successful seasons the club was able to transfer up levels to the MLS. In the club first season it managed to finish 7th in the East and 14th overall – a solid showing for an expansion team.

Named Camping World Stadium, the home of the Orlando City SC is nothing like camping – which is tranquil and relaxing. With a capacity of over 60,000 the stadium is one of the largest in North American professional soccer. Though the full stadium was rarely fully open in 2015, Orlando still ranked second in attendance averaging over 32,000 fans per game. Orlando will be moving into a soccer specific stadium in the next few seasons, but for the time being they have made Camping World Stadium a great temporary home.

As an expansion team, Orlando was awarded the top pick in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft. With the pick the club selected Cyle Larin of Brampton, Ontario, Canada. The Canadian phenom was impressive in his first season winning the MLS Rookie of the Year Award and breaking the record for goals by a rookie with 17. The young player is a great blocking build for the club and both bettors and soccer fans can expect to Orlando to begin scaling up the standings. Once the team begins to find long term success, the club will begin to development some intense rivalries. As of now the biggest rival of the team is the New York City FC – only because they both joined the league in 2015. There is great potential for future rivalries once Atlanta and Miami both officially have a club in the MLS.
