2014 FIFA World Cup Odds: Brazil vs Croatia Opens The Tournament

Brazil seeks their sixth FIFA World Cup Championship

World Cup Champions in two of the past five events, and five times overall since 1930, host country Brazil is posted as top tournament chalk over their southern neighbors Argentina. Lead by forward Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior, more simply known as Neymar, Brazil opens the tournament against Croatia – a squad they defeated 1-0 in the first round of the 2006 World Cup in Germany. Brazil has -347 ML odds to defeat Croatia.

Croatia faces tough opening round match in their fourth World Cup

2014 marks the fourth World Cup appearance for the Republic of Croatia since they claimed independence from Yugoslavia in 1991. Croatia wowed the world when they finished third in their inaugural appearance in 1998 but have since finished 23rd in 2002, 22nd in 2006 and they did not qualify for the 2010 event. Give the Croats some credit for their 6-2-5 record over 13 matches but they will be overwhelmed by the hosts here.

World Cup Opener Prediction: Back Brazil with a 1000 unit money line wager at SportsInteraction.
