BC Lions Grey Cup Odds 2017

BC Lions Grey Cup Odds 2017

BC Lions Odds To Win The Grey Cup

The BC Lions currently own the longest active playoff streak in the Canadian Football League, making the postseason every year since 1997. Over that timeframe, the Lions have won three Grey Cups – with their latest coming in 2011. Since their last Grey Cup win, the Lions have struggled in the playoffs going 1-5 – although, that single win did come last season.

With head coach Wally Buono and quarterback Jonathan Jennings returning in 2017  - after a successful first season together – and a few great offseason signings to pair with two All-CFL wide receivers, the BC Lions are locked, stocked and loaded entering 2017.

As is the case every year with the BC Lions, the expectations are high – a Grey Cup or bust mentally – but with the amount of talent they have, they should not think any other way. Between retaining most of their players from 2016 (a year which they finished 12-6) and adding two former NFL lineman plus Chris Williams – the star wide receiver who averages 1206 yards and eight touchdowns over his four-year CFL career. All of this has the fans, teams and bookmakers looking at the Lions as serious contenders for the Grey Cup.

    Sports Interaction Grey Cup Outright

With +500 odds, the BC Lions have the second-best Grey Cup odds in Western Division (and overall). These are attractive odds for bettors because the BC Lions have an excellent chance at winning the 2017 Grey Cup. Their quarterback – Jonathan Jennings – comes into 2017 with a full year of starting experience and a shiny new option in Chris Williams. They added depth on the offensive and defensive line. Add in the fact that the Lions have historically gone five years between Championships and all the signs are pointing to a Grey Cup quality season in Vancouver.

    BC Lions 2017 Schedule

The BC Lions kick off the 2017 regular season at home against the Edmonton Eskimos on June 24th at 10:00 PM EST. The Lions and Eskimos split their two meetings in 2016. This year the two teams will play three games. Last season the Lions beat the Eskimos 32-25 at home in a late season game that helped the Lions finish second in the West – while the Eskimos finished fourth in the West and had to play a crossover playoff game. Expect both teams to come out playing hard in their first game, as no one wants to start 0-1 in the hyper-competitive Western Division.

    Results / Fixtures

Following their season opener at home, the Lions go to play their next three games on the road – all of which are against Eastern Division teams. After the early season road trip against Eastern teams, the Lions return to the West to play their next five against Western Division teams.

This portion of the schedule includes a home-and-home against the Saskatchewan Roughriders and their first match-up against the Calgary Stampeders in week 9. After week nine the rest of the season balances out between road and home, east and west. The biggest remaining games are two against Winnipeg – both in Winnipeg – in week 17 and week 19.
