It’s the NFL’s long-awaited season premiere, as Week 1 kicks off. This is always an interesting week to bet on, as teams are rusty or finding their groove. There is always lots to overreact to! The Patriots have already lost (badly… at home) and squashed any talk of an undefeated season. Now the over-reactors can discuss whether they will even make the playoffs. Spoiler: of course they will.

It’s the return of Beast Mode to the NFL! Marshawn Lynch has brought his Super Bowl ring and his 5 Pro Bowl appearances home to the Raiders. He’s had a year off in “retirement” and plenty of time to recover from a sports hernia (we can really just call those hernias).
The Titans are expecting vintage Beast Mode to run the ball down their throats, right at them. I am not. I think he’s going to struggle to come back at first. And he’s going to look very rusty and outmatched in his first game back. So I like the Titans odds at home this week.

Odds makers are not feeling The Brown’s chances at home this weekend. But I am, damn it! I’ve already gone on record as saying I believe in the Browns this season!
Enough is enough. This franchise has combined to win just 4 games over their last two season. They have also not made the playoffs since 2002. Yes, I know all of these things. But I’ve got high hopes for the freakish lineup of Myles Garrett and David Njoku on offense and Jabrill Peppers on D.

The Packers will open the season on Lambeau Field, as they face the Seattle Seahawks.
Meanwhile, The Seahawks are looking to win the NFC West and make it a little deeper in the playoffs this year. They’ve added Eddie Lacy, who’s looking to prove himself to be a Pro Bowler again after being limited to just 5 game last year.
On the other side of the ball, let me just check to see if the Packers still have Aaron Rodgers… yes it seems they do. So I like them going deep in the playoffs this year. They are still the class of the NFC North, and likely the entire NFC.
I like them starting off the season off with a win at home and marching their way all the way back to the Super Bowl
