Let’s break down the Super Bowl odds

Chiefs vs Niners odds to win the Super Bowl 2020

This is an exciting clash of styles in terms of odds to win Super Bowl 2020. On the one hand, you have the Kansas City Chiefs who are piling on points like it’s Madden on rookie difficulty. Since the return of quarterback Patrick Mahomes, they have been like Super Mario on star power.

But the San Francisco 49ers could serve as the perfect foil. The NFL’s top defensive team has shut down teams, including Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. Complimented by an energized running game led by Raheem Mostert, the Niners could strangle the Chiefs and seize the Lombardi.

So which is it going to be? The dynamic offence overrunning the stalwart defence? Or the defensive juggernaut is crushing yet another prolific offence.

It’s almost a toss-up but lean on the Chiefs in this one.

The Chiefs aren’t just an offensive powerhouse. They have a reliable defence that showed they could stand firm and stop a team’s running game as they did against Derrick Henry and the Titans. That was a key showing as the Chiefs can slow down Mostert and force the Niners to try to match their passing.

That’s when the Niners will falter. They have yet to rely on Jimmy Garropolo, who hasn’t been that great these playoffs. He posted his best passing season this year and will have to rise to the occasion. And even if he does, he’ll have to outshine Mahomes.

As a final caveat, the Chiefs are more playoff-tested. They’ve endured plenty of shortcomings, especially with head coach Andy Reid’s case. This could all be the culmination and now is their time to capitalize.

It will be a competitive game and could even be a low-scoring one to start. The Niners might pull ahead. But the Chiefs have an uncanny ability to score quickly and score at will. Once they get going, they’re tough to spot.

Bank on the Chiefs to beat the Niners and win their first Super Bowl in half a century as Super Bowl odds for 2020 indicate.

Super Bowl Prop Bets 2020: What’s Hot

So many to choose from, but don’t look away from these too-obvious-to-miss Super Bowl prop bets of 2020. There are so many prop bets to get dizzy about, but some of them just scream at you (odds via Sports Interaction (SIA)):

Super Bowl MVP: Patrick Mahomes – 2.00

Who else? Mahomes was spectacular as he buried the Titans throwing three touchdowns and rushing for one. Yeah, the Chiefs’ defence deserves credit for stifling the explosive running game of Tennessee, something San Francisco has also leaned on, but it’s usually the man in the middle who gets all the cred.

Most Passing Yards: Patrick Mahomes – 1.34

A gimme. Garoppolo has been less than spectacular, but he didn’t need to be as the Niners gashed their opponents with heavy running. Even if the Niners fall behind and Garoppolo has to pass more, he won’t out-throw rocket-armed Mahomes.

Total Interceptions: Jimmy Garoppolo – Over 0.5 – 1.67

Make this the trifecta. On the tangent that Garoppolo has to air it out more, the likelihood of him throwing a pick is higher. Garoppolo padded his passing stats in the regular season with plenty of his bigger games against less-than-stellar comp. Against the Chiefs rising pass defence, he’ll throw at least one duck.

To Score Longest Touchdown: Kansas City Chiefs – 1.71

The one team prop bet you can’t skip. Mahomes is a significantly better passer than Jimmy G and could air out an 80-yard bomb like nothing. The Chiefs are also more prone to big plays, whether on the air or the ground. Their defence is also peaking and would stifle most big plays from the Niners.

Super Bowl MVP: Raheem Mostert – 5.20

If you’re on the Niners’ side and want to fade the Chiefs, Mostert should be a shoe-in for MVP. They’ll lean heavily on him and the running game to grind the Chiefs out. Running backs rarely win Super Bowl MVP’s now, but at these odds, he’s worth a shot.
