Super Bowl XLIX Futures: Is Arizona a Contender or Pretender?

Super Bowl XLIX Futures: Is Arizona a Contender or Pretender?
With Week 15 being the first opportunity for teams to clinch an NFL playoff spot, today we take a look at the revised futures odds to claim Super Bowl XLIV posted at Bodog. In some instances, the numbers have changed dramatically from the prices posted back in August. The changes are going to be more rapid once the NFL Week 15 action gets rolling on December 11, 2014, so it’s best to act now if you are planning to make futures bets on any of the favorites. We’re not sure the girls below will have much to cheer about in January 2015.

Cardinals NFL best record isn’t bringing chalk status

Arizona backers are fairly excited as the Cardinals were posted with a +4000 preseason money line price to capture Super Bowl XLIX at Bodog. That said, cashing in on the Red Birds will be easier said than done as injuries are starting to pile up on both sides of the ball. Despite their 10-3 record, Bookmakers have bumped the Cardinals SB XLIX Championship odds down to just +2500 which is good for 11th on the board. Possibly poised to fall like a house of cards, we’re not sure if Arizona has enough healthy horses so the short answer is pretenders. This is especially true when you consider the Cards season ending schedule – it’s not easy.

Will Arizona even capture the NFC West Championship?

Perhaps even more telling, Arizona isn’t even the favorite to win their division as the Seahawks -300 money line trumps the Cardinals +200 NFC West championship odds. While he wasn’t posting huge numbers, losing explosive RB Andrea Ellington is a big blow to the Cardinals offense as he was a primary focus for opposing defenses. QB Drew Stanton is 2-2 since taking over for injured Carson Palmer but he is pedestrian at best and Errington was one of his safety valves in the passing game. If the Cardinals loss to the Rams, Seahawks and 49ers to close out their season – which is possible – they may miss the 2015 NFL postseason party.

NFL Championship Futures Betting: Something strange could still happen in New Orleans but it looks like we are down to one NFC horse in the race to claim Super Bowl XLIX. That being the Green Bay Packers (down to +325 from their +1000 preseason odds) who need to get better in pass defense if we hope to cash our August futures bet. Truth be told, we are leaning towards New England winning the NFL title on February 1, 2015, at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ. As such, we’ll back QB Tom Brady and his New England Crew (+350) as an additional Super Bowl XLIX futures bet with a 400 unit wager.

NFL Point Spread: Jaguars at Patriots 2018 AFC Championship Game
OK let's cut the crap here. The biggest determining factor in Sunday's game will be Touchdown Tommy's right hand. Is vaguely-injured hand has stolen all of the headlines away from all the rumours of end fighting in the Patriots organization. The Pats are being tightlipped about whether or not he will play, or exactly what percentage of greatness we can expect. What do the oddsmakers think

UFC 220 Expert Odds and Predictions
Let’s be clear about something: Boston sports fans are spoiled. The Patriots are invincible. The Celtics are leading the East without Hayward, and now they’re hosting UFC 220 with a stacked card. What a wicked pissah. This is actually the first ever UFC PPV ever from Beantown. They did host a series of UFC Fight Nights including McGregor vs. Siver, which helped propel Conor. So you know, thanks for that, Boston.
