If you're nostalgic for the days of Anderson Silva (34-8-0) winning, I'd consult his career highlight reel. Silva's only won 1 of his last 6 fights and is a shell of the man who used to cut through the middleweight and light heavyweight divisions like a katana.

Speaking of deadly weapons, the Last Stylebender has many in his arsenal and will be looking to win emphatically to potentially set up the next big blockbuster on the UFC schedule. There are mumblings that he will call out Jon Jones in the post fight interview.

Robert "The Reaper" Whittaker vs Kelvin Gastelum

I remember watching The Ultimate Fighter season that Kelvin Gastelum (15-3-0) won and it was shocking to me to find out that he is only 27, as it feels like it was 15 years ago. My thoughts on him are the same now as they were then. He can beat anyone on his day but nothing stands out about him as a mixed martial artist. His career arch feels like that more of a gatekeeper than a Champion.

Robert Whittaker (20-4-0), a Kiwi, who will be fighting down under on essentially home soil, does possess the elite striking ability that suggests he is a deserved Champion. Furthermore his standing and takedown defense is quietly becoming something to behold. Having won 9 consecutive bouts including winning and defending the middleweight championship is the sign that Whittaker is on the road to becoming an all time UFC. The ability to hit and avoid damage makes it hard seeing Gastelum last 25 minutes.

Though Gastelum has never been stopped before, there comes a first time for everything.
