Jon ‘Bones’ Jones vs. Dominick Reyes headlines UFC 247 Picks and Predictions
Come Saturday night, UFC 247 will head to Houston, Texas, with several big fights on the way. None bigger, of course, than Jon ‘Bones’ Jones taking on undefeated Dominick Reyes in a light-heavyweight battle.
While Jones, as always, is considered the favorite to make easy work of his opponent, fans would be foolish to doubt Reyes heading into Saturday. Who will come out on top of the highly anticipated bout?
Get excited, UFC fans. Come Saturday night, the Toyota Center in Houston is going to be rocking, as UFC stars from both the men’s and women’s side will enter the octagon looking go put on a show in front of everyone at the stadium, and also the millions of fans watching from home.
Entering the big event, there are certainly plenty of pressing questions fans have on their minds, with the MMA odds continuously moving around as everyone gets ready to make their UFC 247 picks.
- Will Dominick Reyes be able to stun the world and upset Jon Jones?
- Come Saturday, will Bones Jones be able to end Reyes’ undefeated UFC run?
- Who is favoured in the Women’s Flyweight fight between Valentina Shevchenko and Katlyn Chookagian?

All eyes will be on Jon ‘Bones’ Jones against Reyes
Earlier this week, Dominick Reyes may have made a massive mistake, as he trolled Bones Jones for ‘never fighting an athlete’ before. This is how he’s expecting to get in Jones’ head?
The LAST thing anyone ever would want to do would be to give Jones added motivation. Entering UFC 247, Jones is a massive favourite (according to Bodog), holding 1.21 moneyline odds to win this fight. Diaz, on the other hand, has 4.50 odds to pull off the upset. As you can see, things are not in his favour.

Shevchenko and Chookagian ready to duke it out
While the Jones-Reyes battle is the headliner for Saturday, don’t think for a second Shevchenko (18-3-0) and Chookagian (13-2-0) won’t be ready to light up the stage. It should be noted, though, that Shevchenko is a head-turning favourite with 1.08 moneyline odds. She’s the easy pick to come out victorious.
That’s not the only odds to keep in mind, however. Fans will also be able to bet on which round they think a TKO will end in, or if they believe this one will go the distance.
Will either of the fighters end things with a kick or a punch? This is something that needs to be considered leading up to the action in Houston.

Adams, the favourite to take down Tafa
Don’t think for a second we forgot about the showdown between Justin Tafa and Juan Adams. Adams holds a 5-2-0 record, while Tafa is 3-1-0. The talk surrounding these two have certainly been on Adams’ major reach advantage, as his reach is 203.2 cm, while Tafa’s is 188.
Because of this, and other aspects, Adams is a slight favourite to win this one. However, Tafa isn’t going to back down and will look to make his mark in a big way in Houston.
While this bout should be a see-saw affair, we think Adams’ reach will prove to be the difference, so we’re picking him to come out on top.
