While shining on Lionel Messi, who is very familiar with it, the limelight has not been as bright on La Albiceleste on the whole this year and that's a good thing. Argentina was workman like during their undefeated opening round run as they outscored their Group F opponents by a 6-3 combined count in their three victories.

Not well known outside of Europe, Switzerland has brought a new generation of young and exciting players to Brazil. Apart from a 2-5 pummeling versus France during Group E play, Switzerland put up a solid effort in the group stage as they earned wins over Ecuador (2-1) and Honduras (3-0). As Messi is to Argentina, Xherdan Shaqiri is to Switzerland as "Alpine Messi" registered a hat-trick in the win versus Honduras. Over-attacking could backfire on the Swiss and we will wager on Messi over Shaqiri in the "Battle of Diminutive Ones" today.
