Atlanta vs Washington: Bumbling Braves Host Streaking Nationals

Washington Nationals: Solid June has the Nats in first place

After closing out the month of June on a red-hot 9-1 roll, Washington has opened a 3.5 game lead on the New York Mets in the NL East Division. A solid mix of stellar pitching and decent hitting have been powering the Nationals as they outscored their opponents by a 50-20 margin over their last ten games. Fresh off a seven inning gem, where he allowed zero runs and just four hits during a 7-0 win at home versus the Braves, RHP Doug Fister (3-3 ERA 4.15) gets the call in Atlanta tonight.

Atlanta Braves: Slowly slipping out of the National League East playoff race

At the end of May, Atlanta was level with a 25-25 record and they were three games behind the Nationals. Following an 11-16 June swoon, the Braves are 36-41 overall and they are now seven games back. Atlanta is on 1-6 stumble and they have been outscored by 30-11 margin during those seven contests. Making his third career start, rookie RHP Matt Wisler (1-1 ERA 3.75) was rock solid in his MLB debut (a 2-1 win over the Mets) but he imploded in his second start as he allowed six runs (four earned) on nine hits over just four innings during that 7-0 loss to the Nats on June 25.

Braves vs Nationals MLB Call: We see Fister giving the Nats a slight pitching edge in his rematch vs Wisler. Also liking the fact that the Nationals are averaging five runs per game over their last ten contests, we are backing Washington with a 500 unit wager on the money line price posted on the betting board at the Bet365 online sportsbook.
