Baltimore Ravens vs San Diego Chargers Alternate Point Spread Prediction

Baltimore Ravens vs San Diego Chargers Alternate Point Spread Prediction

San Diego Chargers: Injuries have been a problem for the Bolts

San Diego, not the Oakland Raiders, sit last overall in the AFC West as the Chargers 2-5 record has them four games behind the 6-0 Denver Broncos. Injuries have hit the Chargers hard across the board this season but, similar to Baltimore, San Diego is also slouching on defense as they have given up 362.6 yards per game. Turnovers have been a problem as well as the Bolts are sporting a 7/13 giveaway to takeaway ratio. One key area where San Diego shines over Baltimore is in the passing game as the QB Phillip Rivers leads the NFL with 2,405 yards – though his 15/7 touchdown to interception ratio needs to be cleaned up some. Expect the Chargers to air it out early and often.

Baltimore Ravens: Competing but close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades

Cellar dwellers in the AFC North, Baltimore has dug themselves a pretty big hole as the Ravens 1-6 record has them five games behind the 6-0 Cincinnati Bengals. That said, and given how bad some of the teams in the AFC are producing, Baltimore is just two games out a Wild Card playoff position though they need to leapfrog eight teams. Although the offense has been inconsistent, at best, the Ravens defense has been dreadful during the first half of the season. Baltimore sits 25th overall as they have given up 385.4 yards per game with 283 of those being pass yards. The Ravens have played in some close contests as their six losses are by a combined 168-138 margin.

Ravens vs Chargers 2015 NFL Week 8 Call: Following back-to-back west coast road trips, 25-20 and 26-18 losses to the 49ers and Cardinals, Baltimore returns home for the first time since they dropped a 33-30 (OT) decision to the Browns during Week 6 action. San Diego has also lost three straight has they sandwiched a 27-20 loss in Green Bay with home stumbles to Pittsburgh (24-20) and the embarrassing 37-29 ripping by the Raiders at Qualcomm Stadium last Sunday. This game feels like a “last team to score – turn off the lights” style contest. Slightly weary of the Bolts going west to east for an early game, we see San Diego keeping this match close and they have a decent shot at winning outright. Give us San Diego with a 1000 unit wager backing the two touchdowns plus a hook alternate point spread price (+14.5) posted on the Bet365 NFL betting board.
