Belmont Stakes Post Positions: Triple Crown Championship
California Chrome will start from post position #2
After runs from the #5 post position in the Santa Anita and Kentucky Derby races, plus a three hole start in the Preakness Stakes, California Chrome will look to complete his Triple Crown Dream from PP #2 in the Belmont Stakes. Given that CC likes to run with the top four right out of the gate, prior to mowing down the field usually at the top of the stretch, this is a solid starting spot for the only Triple Crown Championship contender.
Ride On Curlin and Commanding Curve round out top Belmont chalk
Following a disappointing 7th place finish after a terrible trip in the Kentucky Derby, Ride On Curlin redeemed himself somewhat with a late charging second in the Preakness Stakes. Ride On Curlin has drawn PP #5 and is the second favorite on the fixed odds betting board at the Bet365 sportsbook. Commanding Curve, who was a 50/1 longshot to win the Kentucky Derby and finished second, skipped the Preakness Stakes. He is taking a shot at the Belmont, as the third favorite, and he has drawn PP #4 for the Test of the Champion.
