Colts vs Texans: AFC South Clash Opens NFL Week 6 Betting Action

Indianapolis Colts have cruised to three straight wins

A tough season opening loss in Denver (31-24) and a referee aided Week 2 home defeat versus Philadelphia led to an 0-2 start for Indianapolis. Since then, the Colts have rolled to three straight wins over Jacksonville (44-17) Tennessee (41-17) and Baltimore (20-13). With the wins, Indy has caught the Texans and moved into a tie in the AFC South division. Albeit against subpar defences, QB Andrew Luck has been on fire lately as he's passed for 1.085 yards and nine touchdowns, with just three interceptions, in his last three games.

Houston Texans look to ground and pound out a victory in Week 6

Houston followed season opening wins over Washington (17-6) and Oakland (30-14) with a road loss to New York (30-17) a home win over Buffalo (23-17) and then an overtime road loss to in-state rival Dallas (20-17) last weekend. Sitting fourth overall in the NFL with 159 rushing attempts through five games, we expect more of the same here. The Texans will attempt to grind it out on the ground with running backs Arian Foster and Alfred Blue to keep Luck & Crew on the sidelines. Houston's offense needs to control the clock in this contest as the Texans defense is 25th against the pass allowing 1266 yards this season. Luck will stay hot here. NFL 2014 Week 6 Prediction: For the most part, the better team has won the five Thursday night prime time clashes this year. The Colts are the better team and have won the last three meetings between these AFC South rivals. A repeat of the Colts 27-24 win in Houston during Week 9 action last season would not surprise us but bettors are getting soaked by the spread line juice here. As such, we have placed a 500 unit wager on the Indianapolis money line posted on the betting board at the sportsbook.
