Heading out on a two-game road trip, prior to enjoying some home cooking during a ten of twelve game stretch at the Bell Centre, Montreal has been rock solid as visitors recently. Following a run of five straight road wins, by a 16-6 margin, the Canadiens are coming off a pair of home loses 4-2 to Tampa Bay and 2-1 in overtime to Pittsburgh. The Habs are healthy and well rested as they have played once in the last eight days. Carey Price (2.19) and Dustin Tokarski (2.23) have led Montreal to a 2.29 goals against average. That's a sparkling team mark and it ranks 3rd best in the NHL - Columbus is 26th with a 3.25 GA/G average.
Columbus Blue Jackets: Continue to dig out of their early season hole
Riddled with injuries to open their season, Columbus was in a deep hole as they went 6-15-2 through their first 23 games. The Blue Jackets are somewhat healthier and it shows in their 12-4-1 run since the start of December that includes a 6-1-0 record in games that went into extra time. Up until a pair of 5-2 losses, to the Maple Leafs and Islanders this past weekend, goaltending had been a huge plus for Columbus. During their twelve recent wins, the Jackets 1.46 GA/G average is rock solid and amazing.
