Columbus vs Montreal: Blue Jackets Host the Canadiens in Ohio
Montreal Canadiens: Streaking as invaders recently
Heading out on a two-game road trip, prior to enjoying some home cooking during a ten of twelve game stretch at the Bell Centre, Montreal has been rock solid as visitors recently. Following a run of five straight road wins, by a 16-6 margin, the Canadiens are coming off a pair of home loses 4-2 to Tampa Bay and 2-1 in overtime to Pittsburgh. The Habs are healthy and well rested as they have played once in the last eight days. Carey Price (2.19) and Dustin Tokarski (2.23) have led Montreal to a 2.29 goals against average. That’s a sparkling team mark and it ranks 3rd best in the NHL - Columbus is 26th with a 3.25 GA/G average.
Columbus Blue Jackets: Continue to dig out of their early season hole
Riddled with injuries to open their season, Columbus was in a deep hole as they went 6-15-2 through their first 23 games. The Blue Jackets are somewhat healthier and it shows in their 12-4-1 run since the start of December that includes a 6-1-0 record in games that went into extra time. Up until a pair of 5-2 losses, to the Maple Leafs and Islanders this past weekend, goaltending had been a huge plus for Columbus. During their twelve recent wins, the Jackets 1.46 GA/G average is rock solid and amazing. However, that number balloons to a 5.20 mark in the five games Columbus has lost and three of those contests were played at home. National Hockey League Prediction: Columbus is 13 points out of the playoff race in the East but they show up and battle on most nights. As such we will go conservatively here and place a 300 unit wager on the Canadiens money line odds posted at Bodog. We also suggest tying Montreal together with the defending Cup Champion LA Kings on a 200 unit two-team parlay ticket using the money lines offered at Bodog.
