Toronto and New York both face heated stretch runs
Sitting with 69 points in the Metropolitan Division, the Rangers are currently one point back of Philadelphia, tied with Columbus, and one point up on Washington. Toronto has 72 points and sit a point back of Tampa Bay and four up on Detroit though the Wings have two games in hand in the Atlantic Division. Toronto has lost three straight one goal games while New York is 6-3 over their last nine contests. Expect a tight battle here.
Washington can move into a tie with Philadelphia with a win
Two of the hotter clubs in the East meet as Philadelphia is 7-3-0 over their past ten games while Washington has earned at least a point in eight of ten contests. With the Penguins running away with the Metropolitan Division (the Pens are 16 points up on Philly) the race for second is a beauty. Dustin Penner, acquired by Washington from Anaheim yesterday, brings veteran leadership to the Caps and is expected to play tonight.
