Lance Lynn has quietly established himself as the ace of the Cardinals pitching staff with a 13-4 record and an ERA of 3.40. Lynn struggled in his only career start against the Giants but he has been dominant this season to say the least. In five starts since the All-Star break, Lynn has allowed just three runs in four of those games. Lynn will look to keep the ball rolling for the Cardinals tonight in a matchup of playoff contenders.
Rejuvenated Zito Gets the Nod for the Giants in St. Louis
Zito, despite being 8-8 this season, is having one of his better seasons of late for the Giants. San Francisco is hanging tough with the Dodgers in the NL West, in a race that will surely go down to the wire, and hold a lead of 0.5 games over their rivals in Los Angeles. Zito has struggled in his previous three starts, posting an 0-2 record with an ERA 7.56. He will try to rebound tonight against the Cardinals.

The Cardinals won game one of this series Monday night and should be able to take down Zito and the Giants in game two tonight.
