Kansas City Chiefs vs Green Bay Packers NFL Week 3 MNF Prediction

Green Bay aims for a two-game lead in the NFC North

Impressive out of the starting gate, Green Bay is 2-0 after a 31-23 win over the Bears in Chicago to open their season and a 27-17 silencing of the Seattle Seahawks during their home opener last weekend. The Chicago score is misleading as the Bears were down 31-16 prior to scoring a TD with 34 seconds left on the clock in that contest. Green Bay spread things around against the Seahawks as six players caught 25 passes for 249 yards and two touchdowns from Aaron Rodgers. RB Eddie Lacy (ankle) went down early last week but James Starks stepped in and posted 95 rushing yards. Lacy is listed as probable tonight – as is WR Davante Adams who is also dealing with an ankle injury. The Chiefs and Bengals are the only teams Aaron Rodgers does not have a win against.

Kansas City Chiefs are looking to recover from their debacle against the Broncos

While it would take far too long to explain all of the mistakes, suffice to say that the Kansas City coaching staff was horrendous during the Chiefs 31-24 loss to Denver during the Week 2 TNF contest. Play calling debacles at the end of both halves, along with five turnovers by various players, sent the Chiefs to 1-1 during the young NFL season. Many have asked if the Chiefs are closer to the 27-20 form they showed in thier win over the Texans on the road in Week 1 or the rank amateurs they appeared to be ten days ago. As long as Alex Smith is piloting the Chiefs offense, we are of the opinion that they are closer to the team that disintegrated versus Denver. The KC defense sits 22nd allowing 268 passing yards per game - that's not good with Rodgers & Crew up next.

Packers vs Chiefs NFL 2015 Week Three Call: Not to totally bash Alex Smith, the guy can be a good game manager if the Chiefs running game and defense gets going, but Aaron Rodgers is the vastly superior pivot in this contest. Virtually unstoppable at home, Rodgers has led his potent offense to nine straight wins on the tundra at Lambeau Field. Green Bay always seems to play a "bend don't break" style of defense but that's a slight concern here.
