Sitting with a 23-20 record, Los Angeles has not had the start many expected of a team carrying a payroll that's in excess of $235 million. While injuries have played a role, the Dodgers are largely healthy now and it's time they start playing like the MLB Championship chalk they were in the preseason. Though Los Angeles has owned Arizona recently, the Dodgers lead the season series 8-1 and have outscored the DBacks by a 53-28 combined count, Clayton Kershaw looks to snap a personal four-game losing streak at Chase Field.
Arizona Diamondbacks: NL West cellar dwellers facing a lost season
Barley one quarter the way through the 2014 MLB season, sitting with a 16-28 record Arizona owns the third worst record in the Majors. Though they have played better in the month of May (7-6) the Diamondbacks are 11.5 games behind the San Francisco Giants in the NL West division. Pitching has been the biggest part of the Dbacks slide as they currently own the worst team ERA in baseball (4.78) and have given up a league leading 52 home runs. Rookie RHP Chase Anderson makes his second start of the season tonight.
