LA Kings: Defending Cup Champs need to get on a roll
Looking like anything but Stanley Cup defenders, Los Angeles heads into action tonight sitting ninth overall and currently out of the Western Conference playoff picture The Kings have been all over the map since their eight game winning streak was snapped on February 26, 2015. Since the streak ended, the Champs have posted a 5-5-2 record and they have lost two straight contests – including a lackluster 4-1 loss to Vancouver on Saturday where they were out shot by a 42-26 margin.
New Jersey Devils: Swamp Monsters are still battling despite nearing playoff elimination
Eleven points out of the Eastern Conference playoff race, the inevitable is on the horizon for New Jersey. The Devils have to jump over four teams in the East and they have just ten game remaining. One has to give them credit for trying though as the Swamp Monsters are 6-3-1 over their last ten games. The Devils looked flat in their last contest as they dropped a 3-0 decision at the Prudential Center on Saturday to the New York Islanders. Put a fork in the Devils - they are done.
Kings vs Devils Decision: It’s difficult to believe the Devils have much left in the tank after their winning ways have gotten them no where in the playoff race. The Kings on the other hand have everything to play for here as they attempt to climb back into the NHL postseason chase.
