NFC Championship Seahawks vs 49ers Showdown in Seattle

Seahawks: Wilson & Legion of Boom need to be solid

While two first ballot Hall of Fame pocket passers will battle in the AFC title game, the NFC Championship tilt features a pair of young, athletic and mobile pivots. Russell Wilson is starting his fourth NFL postseason game (2-1) and he will need to be more aggressive (and better) than he was against the Saints. Wilson was a very pedestrian 9 of 18 for 103 yards and no TD stat line in the Hawks win last weekend. He also had just three rushing attempts for 16 yards and - simply put - a repeat of that effort won't be enough today. Apart from that, the play of Seattle's Legion of Boom, that features Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, Brandon Browner and Earl Thomas, will go a long way to deciding this battle. The entire Seahawks defense needs to be better today as they missed/dropped a few passes that should have been tide turning interceptions against New Orleans.

49ers: Looking for a fourth consecutive victory as the visiting team

Colin Kaepernick, who owns a 4-1 career playoff record with wins over Green Bay and Atlanta last year and Green Bay and Carolina this season, completes the other half of the QB equation. This playoff start will be the most challenging of Kaepernick's young career. Just curious, how do your air miles stack up to those logged by the Seahawks and 49ers since December 29, 2013? It's easy to get a leg up on the Hawks because they have ZERO as they haven't left Washington since a 23-0 blowout win over the Giants in New Jersey back on December 15. You'd be hard pressed to match the 49ers total though as San Fran has logged 11,386 return air miles during trips to Arizona, Green Bay and Carolina over the past three weeks. Don't underestimate the impact that kind of travel has on these big bodied athletes as it will be a key factor in this contest today.

2014 NFC Championship Wagering Lines & Online Betting Canada Game Day Call

We skip across the pond as we connect to the William Hill online sportsbook for our Seahawks vs. 49ers NFC Championship game odds today. Seasoned veterans in the UK - the William Hill group has steadily become a favorite wagering destination for Canadians as their online presence is one of the best in the betting industry. It will be interesting to see if we talk about Wilson vs. Kaepernick ten years from now - the same way we talk about Tom Brady vs. Peyton Manning today. Wilson currently holds a 2-1 edge and we see those numbers going to 3-1 as we are backing Seattle at -3.5 (-110) ATS to advance to Super Bowl XLVIII versus Denver.
