With a win in Buffalo tonight, the Red Wings would need to earn just one more point, over their final three games, to make it 23 straight seasons in the NHL playoffs - the longest current playoff appearance streak in North American pro sports.
Philadelphia flies into Florida with clear path to the NHL postseason
Things are very simple for Philadelphia as the Flyers can get into the playoff dance with a win over Florida tonight. Though they have struggled recently (4-4-2 over their last ten games) Philadelphia has been one of the hotter clubs during the second half of the season. The Flyers want to take care of business tonight as a victory would allow them to step off the gas a little prior to their first round match-up against either Montreal or Tampa Bay. Florida has been mailing it in recently as the Panthers are 2-8 over their last ten contests.
