Super Bowl XLVIII Revised Futures Prices: Seahawks Still Top Chalk
Broncos bust up the Bolts - Top AFC favorites
Following a closer than expected 24-17 win over San Diego during NFL Divisional playoff action on Sunday, the high flying Denver Broncos are the top chalk to capture Super Bowl XLVIII out of the AFC. Canada's place to wager and win on NFL action, the SportsInteraction online sportsbook, has updated Peyton Manning & Co. with a +192 price to claim the Vince Lombardi Trophy - much lower than their +500 preseason money line. After they crushed the Colts 43-22 on Saturday, New England has seen their +800 preseason line lowered to +508 as they travel to Sports Authority Field at Mile High to face the Broncos in the 2014 AFC Championship.
Seahawks roll the Saints - Retain overall Super Bowl chalk status
Seattle, with +1000 NFL Championship odds back in August, were installed as NFL top chalk with a +240 futures price on January 5, 2014, but have now seen their line sharpened to +183 which makes them the top team in the Final Four. We are slightly surprised that the Hawks are still soaring as the top favorite. Other than rock solid play from Marshawn Lynch, we didn't see a lot spunk on either side of the ball as the Seahawks struggled against the Saints on Saturday. Running white hot with eight straight wins, and a 23-10 pounding of the Panthers on Sunday, San Francisco are the third favorite team to win Super Bowl XLVIII. The 49ers were top chalk in the NFC with +600 ML odds back in the preseason but slipped behind the Seahwaks with a +550 line at seasons end. The Niners are now an even sharper +344 on the money line - that's an inviting price!
While we have been on a Denver vs. Seattle Super Bowl XLVIII bandwagon all season long - we are going to take a closer look at the two NFL Conference Championship games and our opinions could possibly change. Stick with us as we will post in depth AFC and NFC title game previews and predictions Friday and Sunday!
