It has been a long opening season start for Minnesota as the Twins are sporting a 15-18 record and find themselves 6.5 games behind the AL Central leading Tigers. One of the major problems for the Twinkies has been making contact as they are tied for fourth for the league lead in strikeouts with 306 whiffs on the season. RHP Phil Hughes (3-1 ERA 4.72) has been the Twins most productive pitcher and gets the call in this contest.
