Arizona vs Carolina: Cardinals and Panthers NFC Wild Card Clash

Carolina Panthers: Cats aim to prove they belong

Can we see a show of hands from everyone who predicted that Carolina would host Arizona in the first round of the NFL playoffs? Anyone? It's certainly doubtful especially considering that Carolina was 3-8-1 heading into December while Arizona was 9-3-0 at the same point. It's often not how you start but rather how you finish though and the Panthers were a perfect 4-0 to close out their season. The Cardinals went 2-2 losing their last two games. Carolina has come to life on both sides of the ball as they posted a 110-43 margin of victory during their playoff style winning run. We love battle tested teams that head into the playoffs on a roll.

Arizona Cardinals: Red Birds enter playoff action clipped by injuries

Once eyeing home field advantage throughout the NFC postseason, Arizona was relegated to being a road playoff team following loses at home to Seattle (35-6) and on the road in San Francisco (20-17) to close out their season. Injuries have clipped the Cardinals as they are starting third-string players at the key positions of quarterback and running back. The Red Birds struggling offense, with Ryan Lindley piloting the ship, is taking it's toll on their relatively solid defense that will need to play perfect if a win is in the Cards on Saturday. That said, we have viewed Arizona as pretenders for weeks now and the Cardinals season ends on Saturday.

Arizona vs Carolina Game Day Call: The last time a team won an NFL playoff game guided by a quarterback who started one or less regular season contest was back in 1979 when the Houston Oilers edged the San Diego Chargers 17-14 in the AFC Divisional round. Try as we might, we can't figure out how Arizona is going to score in this contest - on the road - with Lindley under center. We are laying the line and prowling with the Panthers with a 500 unit wager on the spread price posted at the SportsInteraction online sportsbook.
