LA Angels: Underachieving preseason World Series chalk
Somewhat overvalued in the preseason, as they have been over the past several years, the Angels have failed to live up their March MLB chalk status. Posted as the highest American League World Series favorite, Los Angeles is 42-38 and the Halos are 4.5 games behind the Houston Astros in the AL West. In a race where the top seven teams are separated by just 1.5 games, the Angels currently own one of the two AL Wild Card positions. Relatively hot recently, the SoCal Halos are on a 6-2 roll and they ripped the Rangers 8-2 in the series opener last night.

Texas fans have to be pleasantly surprised by the Rnagers first half performance as the Lone Star State Crew were huge underdogs with a +5000 MLB World Series price in the preseason. Sitting 9.5 games behind Houston with a 16-23 record on May 19th the Rangers were slow out of the gate. Following that though, Texas went on a surprisingly torrid run as they posted a solid 20-7 mark before experiencing a swoon in late June. Including the blowout last night, Texas is tumbling as they are on a 4-10 recent run and now sit six games behind the amazing Astros.
Texas vs Los Angeles MLB Prediction: Angeles LHP Hector Santiago (4-4 ERA 2.58) faces Rangers LHP Wandy Rodriquez (5-3 ERA 3.91) in the battle on the bump tonight. Santiago has been solid as he has allowed just seven runs over his last 27.1 innings pitched. After allowing eight runs over four innings during an 8-2 loss to Oakland, Rodriquez rebounded nicely with a one run over five innings performance in the Rangers 8-1 in over Baltimore in his last start. We are backing Los Angeles with a 500 unit wager on the money line odds posted on the betting board.
